Music for All is excited to welcome these outstanding groups in special exhibition at the 2019 Bands of America Grand National Championships, presented by Yamaha.
Performing for nearly 60,000 people a year, the “Pride” Marching Band is Texas A&M University Commerce’s most visible instrumental ensemble. The “Pride” performs at all home football games and at marching exhibitions throughout the state of Texas. Recent notable exhibitions include Area UIL Marching Contests and the UIL State Marching Band Contest.
A nationally known arm of Jacksonville State University, the Marching Southerners have been defining the future of marching band for over SIXTY YEARS. Comprised of students from all over the country, the Southerners perform for thousands each season – sending chills up the spine and tears down the face.
The Pride has established an enviable reputation that has rapidly spread throughout the nation for its sound, explosive drum line, and crack-precision flag line. The band has been featured in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City (1988, 1996, 2001), the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena (1995 and 2008), and the Orange Bowl Parade in Miami (1988).
This 240-member unit is renowned for its intricate, innovative, and entertaining field performances. Included within the band are the UNA Majorettes, Lionettes dance-line, and Color Guard.
