UPDATE: In order to provide all of the bands in the BOA South Texas Regional Championship the opportunity to perform, we will resume preliminary performances at 7:30 p.m. tonight in McAllen at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The stadium will be cleared and gates will open at 7:00 p.m.
Prelims were suspended earlier to ensure the safety of the student performers, due to the impact of high temperatures.
This schedule change means that there will not be a Finals competition in McAllen tonight. The eight bands who have not yet had their preliminary performances will perform beginning at 7:30 p.m. CT this evening. All band’s drum majors are invited to be a part of tonight’s awards ceremony where awards will be presented in each class and 1st through 12th place based on adjudicated preliminary performances.
Details regarding finals tickets will be posted on marching.musicforall.org Monday. We are unable to process ticket refunds on site. Please hold on to your digital ticket and any ticket order emails. If guests wish to request a refund for Finals tickets, details will be posted online on Monday by end of the business day.
As of 1:30 p.m. CT
To ensure the safety of the student performers, we have paused preliminary performances at the Bands of America South Texas Regional Championship for one hour due to the impact of high temperatures.
Bands of America is working with the Fire Marshall to assess and build a modified schedule for the remainder of the McAllen event.
We will post updates when we resume performances in McAllen on social media and at https://marching.musicforall.org/event/mcallen21/ as soon as they are available.
