Bands of America Regional Championships Expand to 12 Bands in Finals in 2020

Music for All has announced that Bands of America will expand to advance 12 bands into Finals at its one-day Regional Championships starting with this fall’s 2020 events. Previously, the top 10 scoring bands from preliminary competition returned to perform in the evening Finals at Regional Championships. Now, the top 12 scoring bands regardless of class will return to perform in the Finals for Regionals. Super Regionals will continue to take 14 bands into Finals; and Grand Nationals will still have 12 Finalists.

“As the level of the participating band performances continues to rise, there are more and more outstanding bands in all of the Bands of America Championships,” says Dr. Jeremy L. Earnhart, COO of Music for All. “The increase of finalists to 12 at Regionals will give more bands and student musicians the experience of a Finals performance and a second set of feedback from the adjudication panel.”

Music for All will continue to invite Class Champions from preliminary competition who are not among the top 12 scoring bands to perform in exhibition during the evening Finals.

There are still spots available for bands to enroll in many of the 2020 Bands of America Regional and Super Regional Championships, presented by Yamaha. Enroll online at marching.musicforall.org. Have questions? Call us at 800.848.2263 or email fall@musicforall.org
