Music for All’s Bands of America Honor Band will march in The Rose Parade on New Year’s Day 2022 in Pasadena, California. With more than 300 members, this national honor band will represent school band programs across America. Meet the members!

Name: Trevor Jacobs

Hometown: Rockford, MI

Why did you apply to be a member of the Honor Band?

I felt this was going to be a life-changing experience I didn’t want to pass up.

What part of the trip are you most excited about?

Aside from the obvious answer of marching in the Rose Bowl Parade, I’d say going to Disney Land would be the part I’m most looking forward to.

To date, what is your favorite memory of being involved in your high school music program?

My favorite memory by far was marching in the 2017 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Marching down the streets of New York in front of 3 million people was something I’ll never forget.

What are your post-graduation plans?

I’ve already graduated high school, but I am currently going to Grand Rapids Community College and am hoping to transfer to Michigan State University to major in computer science and possibly minor in sports management.

Have you participated in any Music for All or Bands of America activities before? If so, which ones?

I have, my high school band (Rockford High School) went to Grand Nationals and performed in prelims and semi-finals.

Tell us something unique about yourself.

By the end of this parade, my mom and I will both have marched in the rose bowl parade (1986 for my mom, 2022 for me).
