Music for All’s Bands of America Honor Band will march in The Rose Parade on New Year’s Day 2022 in Pasadena, California. With more than 300 members, this national honor band will represent school band programs across America. Meet the members!

Name: Kaiya Bundy

Hometown: Brunswick, OH

Why did you apply to be a member of the Honor Band?

I wanted a fun last experience to end my high school band career and to step out of my comfort zone.

What part of the trip are you most excited about?

I mean obviously Disneyland because let’s be real, who doesn’t love Disney? I am however really excited to meet all the new people with a similar passion!

What are three things you’ve learned from being involved in your high school music program?

  1. The importance of making friends in your band because after all, you are one big team
  2.  How the moments that are the hardest during band camp are the ones that you make you better
  3. To cherish the water breaks because they are far and few between

To date, what is your favorite memory of being involved in your high school music program?

I would have to say my favorite memories are after every away game and competition that we would sing the alma mater when we pulled into the school. It really bonded us as a family.

What activities and clubs are you involved in?

Color Guard, Dance, HUDDLE, Volunteer Opportunities For Teens (VOFT), Yearbook Staff, and Elementary Buddies.

What are your post-graduation plans?

I haven’t made my school decision yet but I plan to major in biochemistry on a pre-med track.

Have you participated in any Music for All or Bands of America activities before? If so, which ones?

Sadly I have not participated in an MFA or BOA events, but I hope to attend BOA this fall!
