Music for All’s Bands of America Honor Band will march in The Rose Parade on New Year’s Day 2022 in Pasadena, California. With more than 300 members, this national honor band will represent school band programs across America. Meet the members!

Why did you apply to be a member of the Honor Band?

I applied to be a member of the honor band not only because I love music and marching, but I also love the Rose Bowl Parade! I have watched it on TV ever since I was a little kid! It’s been my dream to be in such an amazing parade!

What part of the trip are you most excited about?

I am most excited about marching the 5.5 mile parade route because I get to see so many people watch me not only in person but also on TV which is very exciting! cannot wait for TV corner!!

What are three things you’ve learned from being involved in your high school music program?

  1. I have learned how to be a solid leader
  2. I have learned great musicianship from my directors and band mates
  3. I have learned that marching band is not just about playing music, there is a lot of work that goes into marching band!

To date, what is your favorite memory of being involved in your high school band program?

Well, I’m only a sophomore and my freshman year was a COVID year.. so my best memory I have will be Marching in competitions this season!

What activities and clubs are you involved in?

I am a full-time basketball player for school and travel! I also play LaCrosse for school!

I am involved in Sophomore Student Council, and a leadership and community service club called WLCS! 

What are your post-graduation plans?

My post-graduation plans are to go somewhere and celebrate and then go off to college
