December 27, 2025 – January 3, 2026 • Pasadena, CA

The Bands of America Honor Band is a 300-piece national ensemble with winds, percussion, and color guard, invited to march in the famed 2026 Rose Parade®. Richard Saucedo, composer, conductor, and retired director of the national champion Carmel H.S. (IN) marching band, is director of the 2026 Bands of America Honor Band, with assistance from Dr. Melissa Gustafson-Hinds, director of bands at O’Fallon Township H.S. (IL).

The members of the 2026 Honor Band, representing schools from across America, will gather together for the first time on December 27 to spend a week in Southern California for rehearsals, performances at the Tournament of Roses Bandfest, special activities, and a featured appearance in the Rose Parade® on New Year’s Day and for broadcast worldwide.

The Bands of America Honor Band in the Rose Parade marched in the 2005, 2009, 2013, 2017, and 2022 Rose Parade. In 2009, they were part of the Rose Parade’s President’s Award-winning entry. The 2026 BOA Honor Band aims to make history by including members representing each of the 50 United States of America.

Highlights from BOA in the 2022 Rose Parade!

I learned more than I ever thought possible! I worked with the most amazing staff of adults ever put in front of me. I have formed friendships I know I will cherish for a lifetime.

It was the most amazing musical experience I have ever had, to work with such amazing musicians, teachers, and people. It has completely changed my outlook on music and on life. Thank you so much for providing such an amazing, exhilarating and life-changing opportunity.

BOA is a phenomenal program, from the competitions, to the two summer camps my son has been to at Illinois State, to the Rose Parade. It is a great learning experience and has aided him greatly in his music, his marching and his leadership.
