Music for All’s Bands of America Honor Band will march in The Rose Parade on New Year’s Day 2022 in Pasadena, California. With more than 300 members, this national honor band will represent school band programs across America. Meet the members!

Name: Annabelle Stultz

Hometown: Kennesaw, GA

Why did you apply to be a member of the Honor Band?

I have watched the Rose Parade every year and thought it would be so cool to be a part of it! My color guard coach mentioned BOA Honor Band one day, and I decided to challenge myself and audition.

What part of the trip are you most excited about?

I’m most excited to travel to California and be with people from around the country who love to perform as much as I do. I grew up in California, so it’s always exciting for a chance to go back. Plus, we get a chance to not only go to Disneyland but also perform!

What are three things you’ve learned from being involved in your high school music program?

Determination, leadership, and patience

To date, what is your favorite memory of being involved in your high school music program?

There was one winter guard practice where it started to snow, which was pretty random for Georgia. We were all frazzled trying to figure out if our competition had been cancelled and what the plans were, but the moment we stepped outside during a water break, it was amazing. I think that was the first ever snowball fight our guard program had!

What are your post-graduation plans?
Georgia Institute of Technology for Chemical Engineering

Have you participated in any Music for All or Bands of America activities before? If so, which ones?

Multiple Super Regionals and Regionals! I’ve also performed at Grand Nationals in 2018.

Tell us something unique about yourself.

My hobbies equate to those of a Grandma! A Friday night for me involves needlepointing and snacking on a baked good I made.
