Music for All’s Bands of America Honor Band will march in The Rose Parade on New Year’s Day 2022 in Pasadena, California. With more than 300 members, this national honor band will represent school band programs across America. Meet the members!

Why did you apply to be a member of the Honor Band?
I saw the auditions reopened and my dad suggested that I try out, so I looked into it more and really wanted to audition. So I did, and I made it!
What part of the trip are you most excited about?
As much as I want to say Disneyland, I’m going to have to say marching in the parade! I’ve never done it before and I’m so excited to do it!
What are three things you’ve learned from being involved in your high school music program?
I’ve learned how to manage my time wisely, how to be prepared, and how to be a good leader.
To date, what is your favorite memory of being involved in your high school music program?
My favorite memory is state finals 2019 BY FAR. I loved every second of getting to perform and make finals for the 2nd time in school history, also making 4th was so amazing and I can’t wait to do it again this year!
What are your post-graduation plans?
I don’t know yet, but I have a few ideas like something in architecture or going into music education.
Have you participated in any Music for All or Bands of America activities before? If so, which ones?
My freshman year we made finals at BOA Austin in 2019 and went to the San Antonio Super Regionals later that season!
