Music for All’s Bands of America Honor Band will march in The Rose Parade on New Year’s Day 2022 in Pasadena, California. With more than 300 members, this national honor band will represent school band programs across America. Meet the members!

Why did you apply to be a member of the Honor Band?
I applied because it looked fun. I got an email from MFA and thought “why not!”
What part of the trip are you most excited about?
Probably the parade itself and performing at Disney.
What are three things you’ve learned from being involved in your high school music program?
I’ve learned how to lead a group, how to listen better, and how to work through hardships.
To date, what is your favorite memory of being involved in your high school music program?
I think my favorite memory would have to be when my winter guard went to WGI Austin in 2020 before COVID-19 hit. It was our first time going to that competition and we ended up making it all the way to finals, performing our hearts out. That trip was long and tiring, but it was worth it.
What activities and clubs are you involved in?
I am part of Girl Scouts and my school’s e-sports club. I am also the head editor of my school’s video news.
What are your post-graduation plans?
I am going to Montana State University to study film.
Have you participated in any Music for All or Bands of America activities before? If so, which ones?
I have been able to compete at BOA San Antonio every year since 2017
