Name: Dylan Mulligan
Hometown: Keller, TX
Why did you apply to be a member of the Honor Band?
I applied to be a member of the Honor Band in order to represent my community performing in the Rose Parade.
What part of the trip are you most excited about?
I am most excited about rehearsing with people I have never met before
What are three things you’ve learned from being involved in your high school music program?
I learned that mastery in a valuable skill brings countless opportunities, I learned the importance of independence, and I learned the broad impact music has in numerous parts of life.
To date, what is your favorite memory of being involved in your high school music program?
My favorite memory is hands-down the final warmup before the final show after a long, competitive season. There is absolutely nothing more focused, connecting, or riveting as getting ready for the last hoorah.
What are your post-graduation plans?
I plan to major in finance at an in-state Texas university for my bachelor’s degree.
Tell us something unique about yourself:
I consider myself curiously optimistic about the capabilities of all human beings to be strong through very hard times.
